Smart Credit Guide
A system that allows you as a tutor to let your direct clients pay later, with your rights guaranteed and earnings protected
What is Smart Credit?
The Smart Credit system is an exclusive feature that allows you as an advanced tutor to let your direct clients pay later. Instead of the student paying upfront, you can deliver the service first and the student repays the amount within a specified period.
You as the tutor are the guarantor for the repayment. The platform provides you with tools to track payments and takes protective measures in case of delays.
Who is This Feature For?
⚠️ Important Notice: This feature is available only for direct assignments. This means the student is a known client who chooses you directly. It is not available for indirect assignments (when the platform matches the student to you).
Available For
- Direct assignments (student knows you)
- Recurring clients
- Students with good payment history
Not Available For
- Indirect assignments
- New students without history
- Unverified accounts
How Does the System Work?
Student Eligibility Assessment
The system automatically calculates a credit score for the student based on:
- Previous payment history (did they pay on time?)
- Profile completeness and identity verification
- Membership duration on the platform
- Number of successfully completed orders
Credit Limit Determination
Each eligible student receives a credit limit that defines the maximum amount they can borrow.
Example: A student with a 500 SAR credit limit → can order a 200 SAR service and pay later → 300 SAR remaining available limit.
Service Delivery
After approving the credit, you deliver the service as usual. The platform records the amount as outstanding credit owed by the student.
Repayment
The student repays the amount within the grace period (30 days) in one of two ways:
- Full payment: Pays the entire amount at once
- Installments: Pays in comfortable installments within the specified period
Tutor Eligibility Requirements
To activate the Smart Credit feature, you must meet the following requirements:
- ✅ 50+ completed orders successfully on the platform
- ✅ 4.5+ star rating from students
- ✅ Dispute rate less than 5% of total orders
- ✅ 6+ months active membership on the platform
- ✅ Fully verified account (identity + bank details)
The system reviews your eligibility automatically. When all requirements are met, the Smart Credit feature appears in your dashboard.
Credit Tracking in Your Dashboard
In your dashboard, you can monitor all credit transactions in detail:
Risks and Platform Protection
⚠️ Credit Risks
Granting credit carries risks you should be aware of:
- Late Payment: The student may miss the payment deadline
- Non-Payment: In rare cases, the student may not repay the full amount
- Impact on Your Credit Limit: Outstanding credits may affect your ability to grant new credit
🛡️ Platform Protection
The platform takes measures to protect you:
- Payment Monitoring: Automatic notifications to students with overdue payments
- Account Suspension: Suspension of defaulting student's account
- Negative Report: Recording non-payment in the student's credit history
- Future Credit Ban: Defaulting students cannot use credit again
Tips for Using Smart Credit
🎯 Start Carefully
Begin with small amounts for clients you know well. Don't grant large credit to a new client.
📊 Monitor Your Dashboard
Track repayment status regularly. Contact the student before the due date as a reminder.
📝 Document the Agreement
Use internal messages to document credit terms, amounts, and repayment dates.
⚖️ Balance the Risks
Don't grant credit beyond what you can afford to lose. Remember, you are the guarantor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I refuse to grant credit to an eligible student?
Yes. The decision to grant credit is entirely yours. Even if the student is eligible per the system, you can decline the credit request.
What happens if the student doesn't repay?
The platform follows up with defaulters and takes actions including: reminder notifications, account suspension, and a negative report in their credit record. However, as the tutor, you bear the risk of non-payment since you are the guarantor.
Can intermediaries also grant credit?
Yes. Eligible intermediaries can activate Smart Credit for their direct clients. Read the Intermediary Smart Credit Guide.
What is the repayment grace period?
The default grace period is 30 days from the service delivery date. The student can repay in full or in installments.
Do unpaid credits affect my rating?
They don't directly affect your tutor rating, but they may affect your overall credit limit (how much additional credit you can grant).
Can I enable and disable the feature?
Yes. You can enable or disable the Smart Credit feature from your account settings at any time.
